Some months ago I said to my neurologist that I needed to educate myself with regard to diet, and asked if she could recommend a book.
She recommended Grain Brain.
The book instantly won my attention because my father suffered from cognitive decline, and I have a fear of suffering the same fate. People look at me and ask what is going on, noting that, in a positive way, I look different!
I know it’s because I made these changes because for my son’s birthday last week I snuck a few sweet treats (sugar, carbs, gluten) to celebrate, and I quickly became irritable and uncomfortable in my body.
It is a everyday fight to avoid eating those things I like, but I want to make it a way of life, a better life.
