Healing Loneliness Through Creativity, Awe, and Connection

Loneliness is pervasive in our modern world. The sense of isolation and lack of connection, clearly made worse by the COVID pandemic, is associated with a wide scope of health issues and even mortality. So what do we do?

Some important steps are presented in our podcast, an interview with the author of Project Unlonely – Healing Our Crisis of Disconnection, Dr. Jeremy Nobel. Jeremy Nobel, M.D., MPH, is a primary-care physician, public health practitioner, and award-winning poet with faculty appointments at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Harvard Medical School.

He is the founder and president of the Foundation for Art & Healing (www.ArtandHealing.org), whose signature initiative, Project UnLonely, addressing the personal and public health challenges of loneliness and social isolation, has gained national visibility.

This is an important topic, not just for the elderly, living alone, but for all of us. For it is clear that any of us can feel lonely and disconnected, even in the midst of our busy lives.
